SMS Terms

These terms cover the North Central Refs text message program for registered officials.

The program

North Central Refs sends two kinds of text messages: account notifications tied to your membership, assignments, meetings, and dues; and optional news and marketing updates from the association. One switch in Your Profile controls both.

Turning it on

Sign in, open Your Profile, switch on SMS notifications under News notifications, and press Save notifications. The step-by-step page shows each screen. Consent is not a condition of membership or purchase — you can officiate, pay dues, and use every part of the site without it.

Who can turn it on

You need a North Central Refs account and a mobile number on your ArbiterSports record. Sign up only for a United States mobile number you own or normally use. Not every carrier carries every message.

Frequency, cost, and delivery
  • Message frequency varies. It depends on your assignments and on how often the association posts news.
  • Standard message and data rates may apply. Your mobile carrier sets those rates, not North Central Refs.
  • Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages, and we cannot promise every message arrives.

Stopping texts and getting help

Reply STOP to any message and the texts stop. You can also switch SMS notifications off in Your Profile and press Save notifications. Reply HELP for help. This page and the steps for turning texts on describe the whole program.

Privacy

SMS opt-in data and consent are not sold or shared with third parties for promotional or marketing purposes. We share them only with the service providers that help us deliver the messaging program, such as our messaging platform and mobile carriers. The Privacy Policy covers the rest.

Changes to the program

We may change these terms or end the program at any time. Changes appear on this page with a new date.
