Brand new — am I qualified?.

Though it is not required, it is recommended. However, anyone can succeed through reading the NFHS rulebook and casebook along with studying.

You must be at least 18 years old to work Varsity games. However, TSSAA does have a program to allow younger officials to train in lower levels.

You can officiate both.

That depends on the part of the season. First games begin the first week of August. It is imperative to work scrimmage games before the regular season begins for supervisors to evaluate you and assign you more games. Once you register and attend a meeting, you could be working in no time.
